Style Guide to Aberdeen!!

After being selected as a student ambassador for Motel Rocks, my first assignment was to create a blog post on a "Stylish Guide" to my current city (i.e. Aberdeen)

You can have a wee read of the post on the Motel site here.

However, the word limit was 350, and as I like to blab on, I went slightly over!! So here is my full "Stylish Guide to Aberdeen"....

Best place for budget bargains…. Take 2 (200 Union Street, AB10 1QS)

Forgot the usual charity shop experience of hunting through rails of unfortunate looking granny-style items, this store comes with a twist! As you delve into the neatly maintained racks, expect to see well-kept pieces from your favourite high street (and even designer) brands. If it weren’t for the budget prices, you’d think you were in a designer boutique! But no, the profits made here go to Barnados charity, meaning you can shop without the guilt.

Best place for vintage vixens…. The Closet (31 Jopps Lane, AB25 1BX)

Nestled behind the busy Bon Accord shopping centre, with its cute and quirky interior, this vintage boutique is one of Aberdeen’s best-kept secrets. Stocked full of individual, hand-selected gems, it’s great for unique and one-off finds. Perfect for the girl who likes to make a fashion statement!

Best place to shop till you drop….Union Square (Guild Square, AB11 5RG)

Having opened just two years ago, this £250 million city-centre shopping development is one of the largest in the UK. From shops including Hollister, Cult and Zara, to the wide range of restaurants (Yo! Sushi, Wagamamas and Nandos to name a few), to the ten screen cinema, it’s the perfect place to keep you occupied on a rainy day in Aberdeen (and let’s face it, there’s plenty of them!).

Best place to get your creative juices flowing…. Bead Crazy (17 St. Andrew Street, AB25 1BQ)

Ever wanted to make your own jewellery, but not known how? Then head down to this bead shop, where you can browse through hundreds of beads, crystals, fittings and strings, before signing up for a jewellery making workshops to learn what to do with them. From as little as £15, it’s a great idea for creating your own bespoke gifts.

Best place for high class dining… Cocoa (11 Market Street, AB11 5PY)

Whether you’re after an energy-boosting espresso, a quick lunch-time panini, or an elegant evening meal, Cocoa will cater for all your dining needs. Located just off Aberdeen’s busy shopping street, the sophisticated atmosphere, exceptional service and fantastic food (I recommend the crab and ginger fishcakes) will keep you returning time and time again. Mention this blog to receive 10% off your bistro meal.

Best place to start your night out….Paramount (21 Bon Accord Street, AB11 6EA)

With an innovative interior design (including a chandelier lit regal section and a Thai-themed Buddha area), Parmount’s eclectic atmosphere makes it the perfect place to stop off for a few drinks before heading into town. With extremely friendly student prices, you can pick up vodka and mix for only 69p on selected weekdays. Or, if you fancy something a bit more plush, their skilled mixologists are always on hand with a range of tempting cocktails, from your classic “Mojito” to the more daring “Porn Star Martini”.

Enjoy!

  1. This was dinner tonight at our house... I am too tired some days to come up with fantastic or extravagant meal ideas, plus the kids don't eat my best meals anyways. Tonight I wanted them to get some good calories so I added sausage to the recipe. It's delicious and hearty and best of all, it's super easy. jogos friv4school , jogos friv online , friv 2020
